The values and morals of my generation, gen-next is very different from that of our parents and grandparents. The values and moral system of our parents were conservative, even that of their parents. As for generation next we are liberals. Issue like religion, ethic identification, sexual mores, and education have done a complete 360 degrees. Generation next love change and love the fact that we have control over our lives and doesn’t have to live out someone else’s life. We speak out more and are not afraid to confront something we don’t like.
This would be unacceptable to my parent and grandparents generation. They did as told and what was expected of them. They live their lives by strict rules and guidelines that would make everyone alike. The thought of going against what their parents believed was not and question. Everything from religion, sexual moral, family values, and fitting into society had to be done in an orderly fashion and the right way.
For my generation I don’t think we know the right ways of doing things anymore. Religion has become an option, we do have more tolerance for being diverse and accepting everyone for their differences. Our sexual morals are like hobbies and not seen as something you should love and cherish. And education is taken for granted. Most of us don’t have family goals and is willing to do anything to gain a little success. To me it a shame that our generation has lost its way but it’s exciting because of all the different opinions and values.

  2. i agree with you as well. I think we might even take somethings to far with our parents and not listening. But they expect us to be like them when they were younger and we cant, things have changed.
